Major Ongoing Projects

In order to strengthen core processes and modernize, HPCL has developed ambitious plans for expansion and diversification in the areas of increasing energy demand, technological upgradation and environment management. A brief on some major projects in progress in different parts of India are given below.

SBU: Engineering & Project

Project Information:

Located at Pachpadra in Balotra District, Rajasthan, this project has been conceived to enable the evacuation and marketing of liquid petrochemicals from the HRRL Refinery through tank trucks. It is a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening downstream petrochemical logistics and ensuring smooth market distribution.

Project Scope:

The scope includes construction of petrochemical storage tanks; four for Benzene and three for Toluene with a combined capacity of approximately 27,000 KL. In addition, a 8-bay TT Filling gantry for petrochemicals, 2-bay for MS/ HSD a separate 4-bay TT Filling gantry for Butadiene are being developed, supported by allied civil buildings, structural works, electrical systems, and TAS systems.

Current Status:

The project has achieved completion of the Petrochemical tanks (Benzene and Toluene), 8 bay gantry, structural sheds, and associated buildings.

Project Information:

Situated at Kamardanga in Chirang District, Assam, this greenfield project is designed to strengthen HPCL’s supply chain infrastructure in the North East. It aims to increase market share in the region while enhancing supply capabilities to Bhutan, thereby supporting cross border energy distribution.

Project Scope:

The facility comprises a combined POL and LPG single spur TWD railway siding, an 8 bay TT Filling gantry, 2-bay TT unloading gantry for Ethanol and TWD & TLF pump houses with associated allied facilities. The project has been planned to provide seamless integration of rail and road logistics for Petroleum products, boosting energy security of North East.

Current Status:

Completion of tankage, sheds, and building works has been achieved.

Project Information:

Located at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram District, Andhra Pradesh, near Visakhapatnam, this project involves the construction of an aviation fuel farm facility by HPCL as concessionaire for the upcoming greenfield airport being developed by GMR. It is a critical infrastructure project to support aviation fuel requirements for the new airport.

Project Scope:

The scope includes construction of ATF tanks, a six bay loading gantry, fire hydrant systems, allied civil buildings, structural works, electrical systems, and TAS systems. The facility is designed to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable aviation fuel supply for airport operations.

Current Status:

The project has successfully completed ATF tanks, sheds, buildings, and internal roads, ensuring readiness to support the airport’s fuel requirements upon commissioning.
